TrueNorth: Veteran Disability Support

 Guiding veterans through the VA disability rating process with clarity and confidence. 

What TrueNorth Is:

What We Do

TrueNorth provides free guidance to help veterans prepare for a VA disability rating increase. Our team supports you with organizing documents, preparing statements, understanding DBQs, and connecting you with accredited assistance when needed. 

We do not file claims, provide legal advice, or replace a VSO.

 We guide you so you can move through the VA process with confidence.

Feel overwhelmed by VA paperwork

If a VSO cannot support your claim, we connect you with pro bono or low-cost accredited help.

How TrueNorth Works

1. Complete the Intake Form

Submit basic information about your service-connected conditions and goals.  Submit basic information about your service-connected conditions and goals. 

2. Phone Interview With Our Team

We review your situation, discuss your challenges, and explain what evidence is needed. 

3. Upload Required Documents

 You will receive an email with instructions on what documents to upload and how. 

4. Preparation & Review

Our team reviews your documentation and prepares you for the meeting with a VSO or accredited representative. 

5. Decision or Referral

We guide you to the right accredited channel and ensure you have a complete package ready for submission. 

Important Program Notes:

  • TrueNorth is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. 
  • We are not a VSO and do not submit claims. 
  • Our role is to prepare, educate, and support veterans before they file. 

 Program Costs & Donation Pledge  

TrueNorth services are provided without upfront cost to veterans. We do not charge fees, and you are not required to pay for assistance. However, because our nonprofit relies on community support to continue offering housing grants and disability guidance, we ask veterans who successfully receive VA backpay to honor a voluntary donation pledge of 20% of their award. This pledge is not a condition of service, but it is an important way veterans can help us continue supporting others in need.
